As is told to the virtuous, so is told to man of vice and as is told to the vice man so is told to the virtuous
Be equipoise
Unattached preacher preaches the rich man in the same way as he preaches a poor man; and he preaches the poor in the same way as he preaches a rich man. माया मज्जवभावेणं,
लोहं सन्तोसओ जिणे
लोहं सन्तोसओ जिणे
Win deceit with simplicity and greed with contentment
How should the speech be ?
भासियव्वं हियं सच्चं
Benevolent and true must be spoken
Old oxen
तत्थ मंदा विसीयंति, उज्जाणंसि जरग्गवा
Like an old oxen on the climh, ignorant men get irritated on the path of realization
Humility
जे एगं नाम से बहुं नामे
One, who becomes humble, can make many others too
Free from bondage
एस वीरे पसंसिए, जे बद्धे पडिमोयए
That brave one only becomes praiseworthy who liberates the bonded
Study of Vedas
वेया अहीया न भवन्ति ताणं
Study of vedas cannot protect
Penance is difficult
असिधारागमणं चेव, दुक्करं चरिउं तवो
Penance is as difficult as walking on the edge of a sword.
Restrain the taste
अप्पपिण्डासि पाणासि अप्पं भासेज्ज सुव्वए
Well-vowed aspirant should take less food, water and speak less
