To live, food and water are needed; to rear the family, money is needed. It is different for ascetics; but for the family men money is required at every step. Nātha kahē tuṁ suṇanē nārī
Bhāva: Nārī nē nārāyaṇī banāvatī hitaśikṣā
Nātha kahē tuṁ suṇanē nārī, śikhāmaṇa chē sārī jī;
vacana tē saghaḷāṁ vīṇī lēśē,
tēhanā kāraja saraśē, śāṇī tha’i'ē ja

They are born again
माई पमाई पुण एइ गब्भं
Cunning and lethargic are born again
Benefit and greed
जहा लाहो तहा लोहो, लाहा लोहो पवड्ढइ
Where there is profit, there is greed and greed grows with the profit
Do not lick the spitted
से मइमं परिय मा य हु लालं पच्चासी
Wise aspirant should not lick the spitted i.e. not desire those which have been renounced
Sharing equally
असंविभागी न हु तस्स मोक्खो
He, who shares not equally, attains not salvation
Value the time
अणभिक्कंतं च वयं संपेहाए,
खणं जाणाहि पंडिए
खणं जाणाहि पंडिए
Wise man! Seeing the remaining age, realize the importance of time – understand the value of opportunity
True learning
अट्ठजुत्ताणि सिक्खिज्जा,
निरट्ठाणि उवज्जए
निरट्ठाणि उवज्जए
Refrain from wasteful learning, learn only what is useful
