Essence of knowledge
एवं खु णाणिणो सारं,
जं न हिंसइ किंचणं
जं न हिंसइ किंचणं
Non-violence or compassion is religion but it is essential to have knowledge before its application
Firmness in the man of right perception
से दिट्ठिमं दिट्ठि न लूसएज्जा
An aspirant with right perception should not complain
Forbearance
पियमप्पियं सव्वं तितिक्खएज्जा
All the loving and unloving must be endured with equanimity
Self-conquest
सव्वं अप्पे जिए जियं
By winning the self you can win all
Vigilant or Unvigilant
सव्वओ पमत्तस्स भयं,
सव्वओ अप्पमत्तस्स नत्थि भयं
सव्वओ अप्पमत्तस्स नत्थि भयं
Unvigilant is afraid everywhere; vigilant is not afraid anywhere
Rarity of true wisdom
बहुकम्मलेवलित्ताणं बोही
होइ सुदुल्लहा तेसिं
होइ सुदुल्लहा तेसिं
Those souls who are too much attached with karma, enlightenment is very rare
Where does religion stay ?
सोही उज्जुअभूयस्स, धम्मो सुद्धस्स चिट्ठइ
A simple soul can get pure and in the pure soul only religion stays
Keep away from misconduct
कुसीलवड्ढणं ठाणं, दूरओ परिवज्जए
All causes promoting misconduct must be avoided
