Free from bondage

एस वीरे पसंसिए, जे बद्धे पडिमोयए

That brave one only becomes praiseworthy who liberates the bonded

With a sword man can also cut his own hands and legs and others’ bondage too; he can slap others and help them too. Similarly, one who is strong he can utilize his energy for good purposes and evil also. Strength is also like a sword, a weapon – an instrument. Praise and contempt both can be earned through that. Distressed seer

आयंकदंसी न करेइ पावं

One who has experienced pain does not commit sins

Where is the man in this world who is not distressed? Everyone suffers with some pain or another. Pain of birth, old age and death are certain for everyone; but apart from this sickness, sorrow, separation, insult, hurt, jealousy, abuse, ugliness, bad odor, tasteless food, rough touch, bondage, poverty, reproach, scolding, running here and there etc., are hundreds of pain through which men are continuously distressed, experiencing uneasiness and restlessness. Profit and Loss

लाभुत्ति न मज्जिज्जा, अलाभुत्ति न सोइज्जा

One should not be ecstatic at profit and sad at loss

Body renunciation

वोसिरे सव्वसो कायं, न मे देहे परीसहा

I renounce love of body completely; there is nothing like body hardships

‘Kausagga’ is a Jaina word, which is called ‘Kayotsarga’ in Sanskrita. This is made from kaya + utsarga. Body is called ‘kaya’ and renunciation is called ‘utasarga’ but it does not mean renunciation of the body. It means renunciation of love of the body. सम्मत्तदंसी न करेइ पावं

Man of right faith does not commit sins

Jiva (animate), ajiva (inanimate),punya (virtues),papa (sins), asrava (influx), samvara (stopping), bandha (bondage), nirjara ( part annihilation) and moksha (liberation) are the nine realities. Their nature is the meaning. Right Perception is having faith on the realities and their meaning because the aspirant who is able to understand the true nature of realities, is able to develop faith in them. Who knows the internal, knows the external and who knows the external, knows the internal

Sense gratification

कामेसु गिद्धा निचयं करेन्ति

Man of sense gratification hinds karma

Among the five senses, objects of sense of seeing and hearing are called ‘kama’ e.g. beautiful picture, drama, cinema, attractive sight and dance etc.; sensual stories, poetry, film songs, different musical instruments, self-praise, melodious voice of man or woman (alluring speech of woman for man, and enticing speech of man for woman) etc., are subjects of eye and ear.
