Where in the middle ?
जस्स नत्थि पुरा पच्छा
मज्झे तस्स कुओ सिया?
मज्झे तस्स कुओ सिया?
Who does not have a past or future, how can he be in the present?”
Remain humble
विणए ठविज्ज अप्पाणं, इच्छंतो हियमप्पणो
The self-improvement wishing aspirant must remain humble

भुवण पईवं वीरं, नमिऊण भणामि अबुहबोहत्थं|

You are your own friend
पुरिसा ! तुममेव तुमं मित्तं,
किं बहिया मित्तमिच्छसि
किं बहिया मित्तमिच्छसि
Man! You are your own friend. Why do you wish for an outside friend?
Human Birth
जीवा सोहिमणुप्पत्ता, आययन्ति मणुस्सयं
Worldly beings get human birth by getting purer
Detachment and self-dependence
पोक्खरपत्तं इव निरुवलेवे,
आगासं चेव निरवलंबे
आगासं चेव निरवलंबे
An aspirant must be unattached as the lotus leaf and independent as the sky
Always awakened
सुत्ता अमुणी, मुणीणो सया जागरंति
Unvigilant are not sadhus; sadhus are always awakened
Wise for ever
सम्मद्दिट्ठि सया अमूढे
One whose perception is right, he is ever wise
Speak not what provokes quarrel
न य विग्गहियं कहं कहिज्जा
Quarrel provoking speech should not be used
